Printable PDF Gift Card

Make sure you do not email the customer an editable PDF!

You may be able to choose File > Print and then print to a PDF document (instead of a physical printer). Double check that the resulting file isn't editable!

If that option isn't available, here's how to make an editable PDF noneditable using Adobe Acrobat:

1. Open the editable PDF in Adobe Acrobat
2. Enter the dollar amount & code
3. Choose File > Save As...
4. Turn on the checkbox for Restrict Editing
5. Enter & confirm a strong password
6. Choose a folder on your computer to save the file
7. Enter a filename for the new PDF (such as JennySmith.pdf)
8. Open the Acrobat Security Settings for the document
9. Select Permission Details
10. In the Security section, for Security Method: click Change Settings
11. Set Changes Allowed to None
12. Save the new settings
13. Save the document
